VP, Global Food & Beverage

VP, Global Food & Beverage

Primary Purpose:
This individual will work closely with Operations and Brand Leadership to develop signature food and beverage experiences around the globe to drive performance, revenue and GSI, effectively partner with Brands and Operations teams to deliver the highest quality and highest performing F & B operations in the industry, successfully migrate best practices around the globe becoming a recognized COE, effectively meeting the changing needs and desires of our guests. This individual will also work closely with F&B leaders around the world on new hotels and 3rd party restaurant openings with indirect management of Divisional VP's of Food and Beverage. Additionally, this role will actively partner with the Procurement team to maximize buying power and improve food costs around the world and provide day to day coordination
Key Accountabilities:
-Create visibility and actively partner with Brands and Operations to manage our $$B global food and beverage businesses. Identify and understand best
practices where we have opportunities to drive better margins, improve per caps and drive maximum revenue. In partnership with Divisional teams
develops common metrics and performance tools, identifies best practices and shares globally. Chairs the Food and Beverage Council.
-Plays an active role in the selection and development of senior positions specific to F&B. Reviews global management and succession planning efforts.
-Work with internal and external experts to design new concepts working both interally and with 3rd party restaurant groups that meet the needs of our
ever changing global guest demographics and align with the strategic direction and image of our 9 brands.
-Establish a COE to actively review and share observations of our world wide F&B operations identify opportunities for strategic investment , operational
changes, or service improvements.
-Monitors and Shares competitive industry trends - identifies best in class pracitces and resources.
Decision Making Authority:
· Capital Plan - identify latest equipment, design, costs.
· Drive pricing analysis and best practices across enterprise.
· Food and Beverage Programs - superior knowledge of controlled beverage options, and restaurant concepts.
· Management Training and Succession Planning; Selection decisions for senior level mangers ( Directors and Above).
· Strategic Intent, direction and Planning for Owned/Managed Portfolio works with the Franchise portfolio as required.
Key Relationships:
· Field F&B Teams - Assist and direct for optimal performance, innovation, standards and training. Provide key leadership for Food and Beverage Council.
· New Build Teams - Collaborate and partner to ensure new hotels are opened Hot in F&B.
· Brands - To support image and direction of the Brand for F&B. In areas such as Beverage, Banquet/Catering design and standard. Designing and launching restaurant concepts in the image of the Brand.
· Ownership & Development Groups - Working with and through Divisional F&B leads. Align to ensure agreed upon direction for concepts and overall F&B Strategy for their managed hotels.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 10 years applicable hospitality and food and beverage experience in both support and operating roles.
· Global perspective vital. Understands the nature of Starwood global business and the implications of serving millions of guest in over 100 countries.
· Proven ability to collaborate and work through a Matrix structure. Can work effectively with others to achieve common goals and objectives,
· Comfortable with influence leadership. Can work comfortably with all levels of leadership.
· Proven ability to drive change and meaningful innovation
· Strong financial and business acumen, understands ROI on F&B initiatives
· Strong creative thinker.
· Strong customer orientation, demonstrates an understanding of what internal and external customers and stakeholders value
· Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate can convey information and ideas clearly
· Thoughtfully tailors the message and listens effectively.
