Director of Derivative and Generation Accounting
Location: Newark, NJ
Full Time Benefits Package, Bonuses.
Base Salary Range: 140k-190k per year
Job Responsibilities:
Financial accounting, analyses and reporting of accounting for derivative contracts and other general accounting related matters.
§Ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial statement and that accurate and complete financial information is provided to the reporting function to meet all internal and external financial reporting deadlines, including SEC reporting (including Forms 10-Q and 10-K) and FERC reporting (EQRs).
Ensures organizational compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and other established policies and procedures. Reviews and monitors the evaluation of all financial statement analytics which includes actual/plan variances.
Works very closely with Research Group to develop accounting policies and procedures for derivative and general accounting matters within trading and physical plant operations, and for new or developing business. Drives SOX control compliance, including the effective design and operation of controls within the company.
Meets regularly with the Assistant Controller to discuss issues, significant or new transactions and provide a status update of department operations. Monitors and drives special project work related to process or accounting changes.
Recommends, gains approval for, and implements changes in operating procedures and standards to maximize productivity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in accounting
CPA
Strong knowledge of SFAS 133, 157, 161.
A combination of 10 plus years in public and private accounting, including five or more years in a managerial capacity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
"Big 4" public accounting a plus.
