Manager of SEC Accounting
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Base Salary: 110k-117k plus Bonuses and Benefits
Level: Managerial
Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a Manager of SEC Accounting with the responsibility of analyzing financial statements and assisting in the preparation of disclosure for external financial reports, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, submitted in compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements. The candidate will develop and maintain management reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual financial reports to the SEC, including Management’s Discussion & Analysis and footnote disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Prepare and review financial related data and commentary for quarterly earnings releases and discussions with the investment community.
Gather and analyze data needed to prepare financial reports by working with other departments within the Company.
Organize and maintain supporting work papers for amounts and disclosures contained in external financial reports.
Research accounting and SEC issues impacting the Company.
Work with external auditors to facilitate the review/audit of SEC filings and the annual report.
Support key functional leaders with actual financial and statistical data needed to assess performance of business initiatives.
Determine proper accounting for revenue recognition and assist in preparing related journal entries.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent business experience.
CPA Required.
5 + years public/private work experience
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, Financial Accounting Standards Board statements, and SEC reporting requirements
Exceptional organization and teamwork skills
Superb communication skills.
Proficient computer skills in a Windows environment and Oracle a plus.
Highly technical with NDA and accounting research.
