Sr. Accountant for Retail Company
Location: Manhattan
Salary Range: 55k-70k

Our client, a major retail company, is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join their team in NYC.
Description:
• Administer daily accounting functions, including invoice and check processing.
• Preparation of account reconciliations and sales tax returns
• Manage monthly close; assist with year-end close and review
• Process and analyze journal entries
• Gather supporting documentation for all entries and prepare all supporting schedules
• Analyze account activity to identify corrections and reclasses based on the nature of the account
• Ensure retail sales and payments are recorded accurately in the general ledger
• Reconcile all bank accounts and retail stores’ cash registers, investigating deposit overage/shortages
• Ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• B.S. in Accounting/Finance
• 3-4 years experience; retail industry experience a must
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Navision a plus
• Exceptional PC skills, especially Excel
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Detail and deadline oriented
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
