Accounting Supervisor
at Synergy One in New York City, New York
Our Client is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager.
Base 95-110k
This role will be tasked with business planning and analysis for new projects, forecasting and budgeting, support of the senior commercial staff (publishing, marketing, advertising and technical) in devising and developing financial models and plans for revenue and profit growth within all markets. This position is also responsible for any consolidations of subsidiaries, associates and joint ventures with related analyses of financial results for reporting to management. Additionally this position will assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for auditors, tax specialist and parent company, including treasury and financial accounting.
Other responsibilities include:
collaborating with the VP Finance with regard to accounting system projects and other management accounting tasks with a view to improving existing operations and workflow
assisting in cost management and profit maximisation
rigorous investment appraisal of acquisitions and proposed launches.
The right candidate will possess an in depth knowledge and general understanding of corporate, sales, and payroll taxes and demonstrated success in reporting on developing variances/trends in the revenue and cost lines. This person will also have a successful track record of partnering with commercial staff, supporting their decision making through financial analysis including ‘what-if’ scenarios
We require CPA certification with 7+ years accounting experience, including familiarity with international accounting standards and US tax procedures as well as planning and financial analysis experience within the publishing industry. Advanced financial spreadsheet and database programming is also required. Experience with Solomon is considered a plus.
An appropriate candidate will possess effective time management skills, high attention to detail, tremendous work ethic, leadership ability and exemplary communication skills in conjunction with incredible business acumen in areas of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
