Microstrategy 9 Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

Job Description
This position is for a Microstrategy 9 Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to strategically design, develop, test and move to production BI software and systems (reports, dashboards, and scorecards), including integration with new or existing databases and data marts. This position will also be responsible for ongoing maintenance of delivered BI software solutions, including metadata.
Major Duties
• Cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI development with IT management and business stakeholders.
• Gather user requirements, develop technical and functional requirements, produce reporting solutions, document the design & development process, metadata and business rules.
• Model, implement and maintain databases and data marts to support Microstrategy reporting.
• Design, develop and maintain Microstrategy reports and dashboards for existing applications including JD Edwards ERP Systems, Kronos (Time Keeping), HEAT (Support Tickets), Versadex (Law Enforcement), ESRI (Mapping Suite) and .Net/ASP.Net applications.
• Integration of Microstrategy with existing databases and data marts.
• Integration of Microstrategy outputs with C#.Net and ASP.Net applications.
• Mentor fellow IT professionals and assist in implementation of Microstrategy in their ongoing application or report development.
• Recommend and implement additional reporting functionality where applicable.
• Keep current with latest versions, features and functionality of Microstrategy.
Requirements
• Minimum of five years demonstrable Microstrategy experience, with at least two years delivering Microstrategy 8 or higher solutions.
• Minimum of ten years experience developing SQL based reports and applications, including advanced SQL, stored procedures, views, etc.
• Minimum of seven years experience in performing data analysis, data modeling and data warehouse design.
• Strong analytical skills, intuitive thinking, and problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, in both a technical and non-technical environment.
• Must be a self starter who is able to work independently without supervision and within a team environment.
• Professional demeanor and the ability to develop effective working relationship with end users and stakeholders.
• US Citizen.
Preferences
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or related field.
• Certification in Microstrategy: Microstrategy Certified Developer (MCD), Microstrategy Certified Engineer (MCE), or Microstrategy Certified Engineering Principal (MCEP).
• Programming skills in C#.Net,/ASP.Net, Microsoft SQL Server and/or Informatica.
• Experience with Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and/or Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
• Experience with JD Edwards ERP Systems, specifically AP/AR, Fixed Assets and Payroll.
• Experience with KRONOS time keeping systems, Versadex Records Management, HEAT Call Management and/or ESRI GIS Mapping Systems.
