Systems Web Adminstrator
at Synergy One in Tampa, Florida
Synergy One is seeking a Systems Web Administrator to join a group of system administrators, all with the goal of implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Web and Application servers on Microsoft and Java platforms. The candidate should be a dedicated problem solver who can prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate's primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of web application operations to include: application of service packs, system backups, management of groups and user accounts, auditing, management of web sites and site collections, management of search and indexing functions, and system and user functional troubleshooting.
Additionally, the administrator will work with developers to implement custom application and site definitions.
Responsibilities:
•Provide day-to-day administration and support for Web Server
•Define and evaluate the daily and long-term development needs of Web environments
•Troubleshoot and resolve Web Applications, and .NET application issues
•Monitor, analyze and report on server performance
•Create and maintain technical documentation
•Perform maintenance, upgrades and patches as necessary
•Receiving general instructions from a supervisor
•Manage and gather statistical trending data for capacity planning
•Evaluate and/or recommend software and hardware purchases
•Share in off-hour/on-call duties
Required Technical Skills
• Strong experience of web and application services running MS IIS, and .NET framework
• Strong Microsoft platform experience supporting Windows Server, SQl Server, and .NET based applications
• Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, .NET or Java coding and SQL Server
• Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP systems and processes, configuration of DHCP, DNS, and local mail relays (Exchange/Sendmail/Qmail/Postfix)
•Ability to do some debugging and modification of .NET
•Knowledge of Active Directory and other Microsoft Technologies: MS Office, Forefront, Exchange, SQL Services
Required Soft Skills
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Independent problem-solving, and self-direction
•Strong customer and peer relationship skills
•Ability to both work efficiently with minimal supervision and collaborate with a team
•Ability to think on your feet, efficient problem analysis and resolution
Required Experience:
•BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or related area.
•3-5 years of .net prgramming experience in a web development environment, with recent experience on SQL Server 2005/2008
